Michael Reder is the Director of the Joy Shechtman Mankoff Faculty Center for Teaching & Learning at Connecticut College. He teaches contemporary literature & culture, focusing on issues of identity, agency, and power, in the college’s First-Year Seminar Program and the Department of Literatures in English. Michael was the inaugural chair of the POD Small College Committee, and has served two terms on POD’s Core Committee, its governing board. His work on improving teaching and learning has been published in To Improve the Academy, AAC&U’s Peer Review, Essays in Teaching Excellence, and A Guide to Faculty Development 2nd ed.; and he served as guest editor for JCTL’s special issue on CTLs at small colleges.
